    i didnt read your rant.

  2. yutsnark says:

You’re right that both sides are culpable. I believe that most Democrats would agree with that.

  3. Promote racial harmony or bust? says:

Because it took 10 years to happen, but I suspect you were still in diapers when it all started. And number 6 is BS. GoP is the one that always wants less oversight.

  4. Nancy Paloozer says:

Because they can never admit failure.

  5. God's Reporter says:

All this doesn’t matter Bush gets blamed he was Prez.

  9. Disgust says:

People who spend as drunken sailors like our current legislative branches are doing don’t care about who is responsible they will point to someone else. This is the mindset of the leaders and the followers ape their actions.

  10. Derail says:

I’m a Democrat, but I don’t know who those people are you spoke of. I don’t even know who the Vice President is. I don’t know who my Governor, senators, or Congressmen are. I don’t know anything about politics or the world because all I watch is American Idol. But I voted for Obama. Remember, hope and change.

  11. Freedom Wins III says:

You can add this to #6 also! Now Barney Frank wants to do it all over again with no verfying or down payments!

    7. The truth doesn’t fit the agenda

Nancy Pelosi is the driving force behind the Democrat’s disinformation campaign. She is their Rush Limbagh.

It was a bipartisan effort. Trent Lott worked closely with Clinton on the legislation that cooked our goose.

    EDIT
For: Promote Racial Harmony and anyone else who said number 6 was Republicans

The history of the Gramm-Leach-Bliley bill is telling. The Republicans first presented it with strong regulation against unqualified home ownership, specifically because Glass-Steagal was being superceded and there were no other controls. Clinton vetoed it because it placed too much restriction on the Community Reinvestment Act, legislation that helped inner-city people buy houses by protecting them from redlining. In the re-write, the Republicans were forced to remove the regulation in order to get Clinton to sign the damm thing, leaving no regulation other than the tiny OFHEO, an agency with no direct control over activities in the market. After Clinton’s forced changes were placed into the bill, anyone with a pulse could buy a house on borrowed money.

Here’s a video of Barney Frank and the Black Caucus beating up on Armando Falcon from the tiny OFHEO: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_MGT_cSi7Rs

4.No, that had nothing whatsoever to do with who was elected, if that is what you were implying.
    5.Republican’ts
6.Republican’ts, WHO WAS PRESIDENT BEFORE OBAMA, That is who should be blamed.
    7. It was, but not entirely caused by bush. Bush did bring the deficit from 3 trillion to 11 trillion.

  14. Grumpy Old Man says:

Because they are totally unable to see a bad situation and not blame it on someone else. How else would they keep racking up the votes of the uninformed and unproductive?

  15. ynot says:

I like your facts and logic..I have tried it many times and this is what happens
    The democrats avoid the question
    They call you names
They go back to their mantra…Bush created this mess
    Good luck!

which political party has been running on the issue of ending abortion for over 30 years,
    4) yes, we are still trying to clean up the WAY it grew like that
    7) were you born yesterday
and about iraq, thank god the democratic leadership has the sense to realize even though we should have NEVER stepped one foot in that country, the worst possible thing we could do is walk away for it to collapse.
i’ll bet you are , an economist i mean
if it was still republican you would be saying the exact thing i just did

  17. volleyballchick says:

    1. Democrat And yes – a date is an end. When a show has stated their final airing, they are ending, too.

    2. Democrat

    3. Democrat

    4. Yes. And how many Americans were below poverty level during that “robust” time?? 13.2% But that doesn’t matter. Because Bush made money, didn’t he?

    5. Already answered.

    6. So. . . Are you stating that Republicans support SOCIALISM?? Because that is exactly what is there. Government restriction on company profits IS socialism. And you say that Democrats are the party of socialists?? Just checking.

    7. Because you just proved that point. You want to blame everything happening now on Obama because he is the president, so I would think that it is only fair to lay the blame at the feet of the President then, don’t you think?? Can’t have it both ways, sunshine. :-)

**And I would like to point out that I never said that Democrats were not “culpable”. Matter of fact, I think it goes further than the politicians and corporations, and falls on the heads of every person in this nation. We all wanted the credit. We all wanted things bigger, better, and faster. We all wanted to have the “newest thing” out there. And we all got it – with CREDIT. And then that bill comes due, and oh, can’t afford it. And don’t say “I paid my bill, so I was not a part of it”. EVERYONE was, because we all had to have it, and we all made it the thing to have. And we all overextended ourselves. Some of us were able to maintain things, but most of us ended up with more credit than we should have. Buying a $300,000 home making $50,000 per year is NOT living within our means. And we all enjoyed it, until the bubble burst.

So, in keeping with the true economic theme of this question, I would also like to point out that most of the “economic growth” reflected in those years was not “growth” – it only appeared that way. More credit doesn’t mean more money – most were getting the credit because they didn’t have the money. That is no how one makes money. And that is why so many companies that everyone perceived as being so “large” failed. Credit does NOT equal $$. THAT is the “growth” from 2001 to 2007. Too much of it.

Let me also say that neither party has my glowing endorsement. I would rather scrap them both and start with parties that truly reflect what the voters of this nation want; not what the corporations and unions want.

  18. Kashaud G says:

You have a point, but most of these issues were not on Democrats, but they got bipartisan support. However, Democrats had a huge roll in this crisis. I can take you back to the clinton administration which had a Republican Controlled congress, where there was a legislation in where investment banks can merge with commercial banks.by 2008,that legislation dismantled banks such as Wachovia and First Union.
