    No, we can’t.

History – which Obama talks about repeatedly – has shown that what they are doing fails time and time again. EVERY TIME. They know this, they know we don’t want it, and they do it anyways.

So no – no kudos for trying. Trying is when you think it’ll work. And, when history shows that it ALWAYS fails, you’re either incredibly stupid or you don’t really think it’ll work – in either case, you shouldn’t be in power doing it.

Pathetic? Not really, Voting against Socialism is the right thing to do and I support anyone that does.

No, and we should continue to oppose such massive power grabs. On your part — can you name a couple things that government does well, which you approve of?

Wow, deja vu.. remember the Athenian Republic .. No, probably not . Alexander Tyler said it best; “A democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government. It can only exist until the voters discover that they can vote themselves money from the public treasure. From that moment on the majority always votes for the candidates promising the most money from the public treasury, with the result that a democracy always collapses over loose fiscal policy followed by a dictatorship. The average age of the world’s great civilizations has been two hundred years. These nations have progressed through the following sequence: from bondage to spiritual faith, from spiritual faith to great courage, from courage to liberty, from liberty to abundance, from abundance to selfishness, from selfishness to complacency from complacency to apathy, from apathy to dependency, from dependency back to bondage.”
Whats pathetic are those Americans that embrace big government and mass government entitlements..

I think outside of Foreign policy particularly the middle East and Afghanistan , no,nor the bail outs. However in terms of efforts to support Universal Health Coverage, increased taxes for the rich, environmental legislation, gay rights and civil rights in general, yes. I also approve of his Latin America policy . He doesn’t go far enough but he certainly has toned down the volume of hostility. Some of the good steps were allowing more family visits to Cuba, opposition to the coup in Honduras, and less strident interventionism a great improvement compared to Bush. I think when he feels more politically secure he will support greater changes.o yeas the Democrats deserve applause especially since they are being sabotaged by a recalcitrant GOP.
