I think that conditions are better in america my fillapino friend lived in manila and he said every night peole were going through their garbage and he had 2 throw rocks at them to shoo them off and they broke into his house and read his dads porno stash so i think the us has better living conditions
If you go to squatters area you will find people living in carton boxes.. dare to go inside.. you’ll find them having 40′ LCD TV, a bathtub, an AC, 12000 watts pmpo Stereo Component, children having Ipod, parents wearing Rolex watches… stolen from them American tourists.
So yeah I think the standard of living in the Philippines is a lot better than in America… just keep them Americans coming.
In the Philippines, 30% of the population lives in what would be considered abject poverty by global standards. Over 60% live in and out of that state. The remainder are the lucky ones–probably because they have businesses that continue to suck the money from the other 90% of the population without any regard for their welfare.
The poverty rate in America is less than 10%. By far it is the highest among Western nations but the American definition of poverty is equivalent to what well over half of the Philippine population lives through every day, in terms of income and their money’s relative buying power.
Not for the average person . Poor is poor any place you go to.
The American poor live better than the average Pinoy.
Doesn’t mean he is any happier though.
Being poor in America really sucks. If you lose your job your home ect. then you would end up living in the streets. Here in the Philippines there seems to be more of a family bond. I tend to see poor relatives move in with other relatives for shelter or support. In America if you have no place to live then you are screwed.
I think that people in the Philippines have a misunderstanding of America. They think that people there have everything. Believe me there are people in America who are sleeping on sidewalks and in tent cities.
I disagree with Bhuwisit. Yes business owners in the Philippines may not care about the welfare of the people. But the people in America don’t really care about the poor either. Most Americans would just step on someone who was homeless if they walked passed them on the street.
As an American living in Makati City ; I would say not arrogantly at all; but realistically; the standards of living in the States are much higher than the Philippines. But i’d rather prefer generally friendly people; than most Americans any day; If the standards of living included warm hospitality then I’d definitely side with Phili.

The quality of life is better in the Phils..I promise you.
The Philippines is currently in DEPRESSION. Look around you.
Maybe in 1933 it was. But since then, NO.

THIS IS LIKE COMPARING…..A BANANA CUE STICK….TO A 1 POUND HAMBURGER MEAL WITH FREE REFILLS…..
COMPARE THE ARMED FORCES OF THE PHILIPPINES AGAINST SRI LANKAN ARMED FORCES…..YOU WILL WEEP IN LAUGHTER….
No. It’s a very obvious answer.
