did republicans not have control of congress at the time? And if you are going to point out facts don’t make it biased. Would you like to mention anything republicans may have done to contribute to this problem?
If could have but hind site is always 50/50. Too bad so many people just write off the Republicans and their ideas. People need to be aware of this and the fact that most Democrats have little to no idea on how to handle finances and the ecomony and we are in a terrible econonic state. Hmm, maybe Obama wouldn’t be a good choice for President, hmm??? I’ve never thought for a day he would be.
In 2003 they were not in trouble.
Their troubles began after Republican awarded management positions were abused through the Enron loophole.
Nice article by the way.
Now if you look up the act that was presented to Congress you will find it removes even the weak oversight of the Office of Federal Housing Enterprise Oversight and the Congress, and restricted what the Treasury department could ask for as far as accounting went.
Not even a Republican controlled Congress was willing to pass the act, and that should tell you something about how bad it really was.

The Republicans controlled both Houses of Congress by a “nuclear option” amount at the time.
Nice trying to blame Dems though.
Why would you wish to grow Government more anyway.
There were regulations in place before they were stripped by McCain’s pals anyway.
Once again, good try pinning this on Dems, sean would be proud.
