It’s partly the fault of those who didn’t qualify for a mortgage under normal circumstances… By the same token, it was Clinton who pushed for these restrictions to be lowered.
The bottom line though is yes, it’s due to the ignorance of those who screwed up and got something they knew they wouldn’t be able to afford…
Have you ever been “sold” anything. Democrats in government sold their voters on the idea of home ownership. The left wing liberal loonies, pressured and cajoled mortgage companies into lowering their standards. With all of that firepower, the average citizen is clearly outgunned.
If you go into a dealership to buy a used car, do you think you are a match for the used car salesman?
The only individuals to blame are those who knowingly bought houses they knew they could not afford to pay for. The vast majority of people in that category were amateur “house flippers.”
No we are the victim, the big picture is that we no longer make anything here anymore so we cannot back up our republican debt. We all can`t be mortgage experts and one fifth of all foreclosures qualified for fixed loans but were told they could only get the adjustable. Our republican administration failed to protect the American people economically.
You are right. It is not the fault of government for the foolishness of people to borrow money they could not pay back. Nor is it their fault for the greed of the banking world. Last I knew, this was a free country and we are free to make our own screw ups. But everyone likes to blame it on the government for their short comings.
I blame myself for buying stuff I couldn’t afford. My credit card debt is not much less than the national debt is currently. Sadly though, I have no one to “bail” me out.
Most Americana’s only think about this stuff in and around an election year.
Then we just sit back and watch sports on TV or do RAP or drink and
eat ourselves silly
Not many people are worried as now *OBAMA* is in the White House
on January 20, 2009..and all the problems of the world will be gone.
This is hogwash and delusional thinking..But every election we buy
into this nonsense..Big Money is what rules the world. Period.

You might be right about human nature but the system was set up to be predatory and at the expense of the borrower.
