Were you rude for making the jerk off do his job? NO!

You should have cc’d his boss on it as well to let them know about the crap service you are getting. If they blow you off, then take it to the next level. YOU are paying this butt monkey plenty of money for his “help” and so you should get what you pay for. If you aren’t, then raise hell about it and go somewhere else with your money. DEMAND what you pay for or don’t waste your money on it.

No, I do not think you were rude. You simply told him how you felt, without sounding emotional or angry – just upset. And you have every right to be upset.

It very well could be that no one is giving him any answers. However, he should still contact you when he said he would just to let you know that he hasn’t heard anything. If I were you I’d request daily updates from him, even if it’s just to say “sorry, haven’t heard anything yet.”

The second mortgage consultant you contacted was right though – if your consultant is not doing his job, complain to his boss. That’s a surefire way to either light a fire under him and get him working for you, or to admit that he’s not doing his job and get someone else to help you.

No. You weren’t rude. He was rude to tell you he’s going to do something, and then didn’t do it. Call the manager, tell him you want a different person to work on your loan. Why should you have to deal with this baloney. You’re the customer. I work for another very large lender, and if the cst wants a different loan officer or processor or whatever, we give it to him.
