Pelosi cannot ‘make’ anyone do anything. Pelosi is the speaker of the house. There are 434 other members and in order to pass a majority must vote for legislation. Then, the U.S. Senate comprised of 100 Senators must likewise pass the legislation and the final version passed on by a House and Senate conference committee before going to the President for signature.
The states with the largest populations and largest amount of building during the recent housing boom will obviously have the most number of defaults because the largest number of indexed and sub-prime loans were written in those states. That is the cause of the large number of defaults. Being Hispanic has nothing to do with that causation. Time to take off the racist blinders and think instead.
I stopped trying to figure out what makes Polosi tick shortly after she promised to use “a common sense approach” to lower gas prices.
The only way this will be an issue for her is when her California commute jet can’t get refueled.
This whole bail out fiasco – both consumer and corporate – is down right stealing from people who showed a little restraint and economic common sense.
